布物作家 山野辺愛子 / Fabric artist Aico Yamanobe

布物作家の山野辺愛子さんは須賀川市のお隣、鏡石町に拠点を置く作家さん。

私が愛子さんの作品を初めて見たのはInstagramで、小さな画面からでも漂ってくる丁寧なお仕事ぶりと、古いものを大切にされているのが分かる作品に一目惚れしたのでした。

古物屋で働いたご経験と長年培ってきた縫製のキャリアが、愛子さんの強み。
「古いものが好きなんです」と愛おしそうに布のお話をする姿は、見ているこちらまで癒されるほどです。

Fabric artist Aiko Yamanobe is based in Kagamiishi town, next to Sukagawa City.

The first time I saw Aiko’s work was on Instagram, and I fell in love with her careful work and style to cherishes old fabrics she collected by taking a long time.

Working experience at an antique shop and sewing career cultivated over many years are her strength. But mostly her affection to old thins is the reason why she can produce such beautiful works.

At Nafsha you can see a wide range of her works such as curtains, dining chair seats and Noren（暖簾） hanging in front of the entrance door.
