木工作家 yashu / Woodworker yashu

木工作家の yashu さん。
福島県の小さな村、中島村に工房を構える作家さんです。
yashuさんのつくる作品は、ドライフラワー用の小さな「花器」。
その多くが製材の過程で出た端材をもとに作られています。

へこみも、傷も、節も。
木そのものの生命力と美しさを活かした作品は、まさに「野趣」溢れんばかり。

yashu is a woodworker based in Nakajima village, Fukushima.
He makes “vase” for dried flowers from scraps which is produced during the lumber process.

Dents, scratches, knots… his works make the most of the vitality and beauty of the wood itself.
Full of “wildness (野趣/ yashu in Japanese) ” is his style.
